Some Aetna Health Insurance customers could see their rates fall by as much as 19.5%, beginning September 1. According to documents filed by the company, the average decrease will be 10%.

It’s all because of a new federal requirement which limits how much insurance companies can spend on nonmedical costs.

The proposed rate cuts would affect state residents covered by Aetna individual health plans and, if approved by the Connecticut Insurance Department, would affect more than 15,000 Aetrna customers. Read the whole story.
